UVA presented speed and flexibility on Snaxpo in Texas USA. March 2008
A big hit on the Snackpo was the in 2006 introduced and patented EDGESEAL APPLICATOR on the UVA LIMAnx. The fact it was placed as a retrofit unit on top of the machine surprised many visitors, but also the competition. This approach on a continuous motion machines means also high speed with the possibility to produce all kind off bags with one machine. UVA is the only manufacturer that offers this flexibility and is the most innovative suppliers in the packaging market contact us.
UVA gives support for new introduction of Doy style bag in vegetables. December 2007.
The stand up pouch or Doy style bag has become very popular. For one of our leading customer in vegetables flexibility is very important. Pillow, gusset and flat bottom were already in their assortment. The need for capacity increase and the market wish for a stand up pouch was solved by our LIMA with a cornerseal unit and special Doy former for vegetables.

Multibagger and Twin Tube big hit at Snackex
May 2007.

UVA showed their innovative NEWTON multibagger on the snackex in Barcelona. The flatbotom multibag bag attracted a lot of attention, because of film savings and appearance.
For the primary bags UVA introduced the LIMAtt, a box motion vertical bagger with two tubes. It has been demonstrated with a double 133mm formerset with a speed off 300 bags a minute. Box motion means no limitations to baglengths or dwell time and capable of making flat bottom, cornerseal or doy-style bags. Unique selling points compared to rotary systems. Based on many years of experience, UVA developed a new edge seal principle (patent pending) which offers our customers the flexibility they need. Our engineering was very pleased with a customer reaction: "we can switch between a pillow bag and a cornerseal flat bottom bag in less than 30 minutes. This is much faster than we ever expected"

New innovations impressed exhibition visitors.

The biggest hit on the UVA Packaging stand was the new EDGESEAL APPLICATOR on the UVA LIMA
nx. The unit was placed in a special exhibition frame at the backside of the machine (photo). The modularity and extremely simple bag size change impressed many people. The cornerseal does not compromise on film speed what makes the LIMA an extremely fast cornerseal bagmaker.

UVA introduces high quality Flowwrapper
September 2006.
On the Macropak in Utrecht (NL) UVA will introduce officially their flowwrapper UVA BRAVO. The machine will be standing on our booth next to the vertical bagger UVA-LIMA. Both are machines, which distinguish themselves from their competition by their quality design. The rugged design guarantees worry free operation day in day out.
The BRAVO is a flowwrapper with 4 servo drives which makes it possible to reach higher speeds, higher accuracy and more flexibility. The machine can be provided with a complete package of options for an excellent price performance. (read more).
UVA unique GLOBAL MASTER JAWS available on FLASH

For sealing polyethylene-based film several sealing systems are available on the world. What makes the difference?

In the last decade UVA packaging developed the GLOBAL MASTER JAWS, initially for detergent applications. Very effective for many powder products, but this jaw system is also well performing for deep-frozen products.

The jaws are in principle based on cold jaws with seal wires, which is not unique. The smart design on the other hand is unique, resulting in for example a high output with quality flat bottom bags. Some major accounts have seen the performance at our test and demo centre and made us aware of the difference.

The jaws are standard available on our NEWTON bagger, but now also on our economical vertical bagger FLASH. This makes it interesting for a wide range of applications and customers.

UVA enabled technology for Flat Bottom multi-bags in the potato snack market.

The 'potato chips department' in supermarkets were loaded with huge pillow multi bags with 6, 15 or even more small chips bags inside. Those big bags, with a lot off air inside were difficult to put nice and presentable on the shelf.

                          This is now history.

UVA packaging developed a flat bottom multi-bag application. Result is a solution for a much smaller and complete filled multi-bag. Not only the presentation improved. Shelf space efficiency improved also a lot, even stacking the bags is possible. Besides that film usage and transport volume reduced, both important for operational cost.

This application is developed as a module on the vertical form and fill and seal machine NEWTON. Creative thinking of UVA engineers resulted in a special former with patented technology inside, which is not compromising machine performance.

The extreme fast UVA LIMANX on the Empack.

On the Interpack 2005 UVA Packaging introduced proudly the new vertical form fill and seal machine, the UVA LIMANX, setting a new standard in continuous motion. The UVA LIMANX will be running 140 block bottom bags a minute on the Empack in Brussels, 40% faster than the competition.
The UVA LIMANX is a 'heavy duty VFFS-machine with an excellent price/performance. The rugged design and selected quality components are the fundament for a worry-free operation day-in and day-out, with an high accuracy and without unwelcome downtime.

UVA presents innovations in USA, on Vegas Pack Expo.

UVA is constantly looking for innovations and solutions that will make our customers more competitive. On the Vegas show, the NEWTON 250c

In the vegetable market the appearance of the bag becomes more important for market share.

UVA is aware of that and is looking for decisive improvements, which give our customers an advantage. Proven technology and valuable experience combined with innovative details are needed.
Making bags with 'low-cost' PP film is common in the vegetable market. Making air-tight bags is crucial for shelf live and demands extensive inspection and also undesirable waste. UVA improved an already well performing jaw set and is minimising waste, by reducing micro-leakages to an absolute minimum for 'difficult' multiple layers seals. With this innovation UVA can offer their customers a possibility to pack their product in flat bottom bag with cornerseals, without an increase in film cost and waste. This is a big advantage for shelf live, cost and shelf appearance.

Interpack: Slider Zipper big hit on stand UVA Packaging.
April 2005.
The biggest hit on the UVA Packaging stand was the new SLIDER ZIPPER on a VFFS machine, capable of placing slider zippers in pillow, flat bottom ánd corner seal bags, with the fastest speed possible  (N400i CS SZ)
Visitors made many complements, which is proving again that UVA packaging is one of the most innovative VFFS suppliers in the market. The cornersealed bags with slider were very popular and kept our stand crew busy producing new samples.
The new technology is ideal for pet food, powdered products and frozen food packages and will give our customers a preferred package without sacrificing fill speeds. The fact that the slider is applied in transfer direction allows making stand up bags with a capacity up to 7 kg, which makes the reclosable function of the SLIDER worthwhile.
Consumers simply use the sliding device to open and close the zipper, instead of pressing their fingers along the zipper to close it.
The launch of NEWTON 400 with SLIDER ZIPPER technology was a true success; what better proof than sales right off the exhibition floor.

Multibagging in the salty snackmarket, flexibility needed on your VFFS.
March 2005.
Looking at the bags in an average supermarket confirms the trend that bagstyle has become more important. A simple pillow bag is still there but in all segments other bags, like stand up pouches, flat bottom bags and corner sealed bags have become common property.
UVA packaging has invested in new technologies for several applications to improve the bagging process and makes it feasible for these markets. This investment has resulted in a patent (pending) for the multi-bagging application in the salty snack market. But more important a new bag is introduced in the market by one off our customers, has given them an early start in the market.

Valves in chocolate packaging.
February 2005.
UVA packaging has configured a NEWTON for packing several dimensions of bags for the chocolate production. Palletising is an essential part of the total production process for the bags filled with up to 20 kg of chocolate pastilles. For this reason a valve applicator is integrated in the NEWTON to add a valve inside the bag. The purpose of the valve is to avoid instability of the stack with bags. The valve will allow air to escape from the bag when handled by the palletiser and when placed into stack. This valve applicator is normally used for degassing or freshness applications in the coffee industry. If necessary the applicator can be upgraded with ultrasonic technology to reduce sealtime. Tilting the Newton to minimise cracks in product.
September 2004.

UVA packaging developed innovative technologies for their VFFS machine NEWTON. For example a tilting device. Vulnerable products are difficult to pack on vertical form fill and seal machines. Product damage is likely as a result of uncontrolled dropping.
For these kind of products special VFFS machines are available with a former pipe put under an angle. UVA packaging developed an electrical driven tilting device for the NEWTON, which allows the machine to tilt, on every angle up to 60°. The centre of the movement is designed in the top of the hopper, so it stays always in production position. (
